| Three days of Food and Fun... Every October, a circus tent goes up in the small town of Larose, located at the intersection of the Intra-coastal Canal and Bayou Lafourche. Under the tent on the grounds of the Larose Regional Park is an old fashioned food festival that features the best in Cajun cooking, folklife, music, and dancing. Best of all, it lasts three days! Now in its 34th year, the festival is made possible by the volunteers of Larose who donate their crops, time, and talents to benefit their community civic center. Admission to the festival is free to all, with ample free parking. Bring your lawn chair! Decorated food booths showcase over 20 different local specialty dishes. Visitors and locals alike delight in tasting Shrimp Boulettes, Crawfish Etouffe, Seafood Gumbo, Alligator Sauce Piquante, White Oyster Soup, Shrimp Po-Boys, Shrimp Etouffe, Jambalaya, Pork Routee, Gratons, Hogshead Cheese, Crawfish Fettuccine, Fried Fish & White Beans, Oyster Po-Boys, Seafood Pistolettes, Crawfish Meat Pies, Shrimp Shish Kebobs, Fried Crab Claws, Boudin, and Red Beans & Rice.
